Junya Watanabe launched his eponymous line in conjunction with Comme des Garcons in 1993 after working as a designer for the brand prior. Watanabe’s designs reference punk and romantic aesthetics and the method of deconstruction. The Wool Check x Cargo Pant Tailored Coat takes “reconstructed suiting” in the most literal sense, showcasing a classic tailored jacket with a faux open-trouser attachment. Wear opened with a t-shirt and jeans for wearable look that still boasts its idiosyncratic character.
